GridMusic Privacy Policy

Effective 4 October 2026

This policy covers the GridMusic app for Android and iOS, made by Janaka Wijesena (“I”, “me”). In short: GridMusic does not collect, store, or share any personal information.

Information collected

None. GridMusic has no accounts or sign-in, and does not collect your name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers, or usage data.

Network access

GridMusic works completely offline. All sounds and fonts are built into the app, and it makes no network requests — nothing you do in the app is sent anywhere. (The optional rating window described below is shown by your app store's own app, not by GridMusic.)

Data stored on your device

Patterns you choose to save are stored only on your device, inside the app's own storage. They never leave your device, and they are deleted when you uninstall the app. You can also delete them from within the app.

GridMusic also keeps a few counters on your device to decide when to invite you to rate it (see below). They never leave your device either.

Permissions

GridMusic does not ask for access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos or files.

Advertising, analytics and third parties

GridMusic contains no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting services, and no third-party tracking. No data is sold or shared with anyone.

Ratings and reviews

Now and then, after you have used GridMusic for a while, it may invite you to rate it using your app store's built-in rating window (Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS). The About screen also has a “Rate GridMusic” button that opens the app's store page. Both are provided by the app store, not by GridMusic: rating is entirely optional, and any rating or review you leave goes to Google or Apple under their own terms and privacy policies. GridMusic never sees it, and isn't told whether you rated.

To decide when to ask, GridMusic keeps only these counters, on your device: when you first opened it, how many times you have opened it, how long music has played in total, how many times it has asked, and whether you have tapped “Rate GridMusic” (after which it stops asking). They are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Children

Because GridMusic collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
